Eric Phillips Going Away Party This Sunday

This Sunday we bid a fond farewell to our good friend, event manager, political pundit, monkey of the e kind and general social visionary, Eric Phillips. Eric will be heading off to Panama for 2 months and we just couldn't see him go without one last reason to miss us.

STARTING AT THE HOLLYWOOD CANTEEN, THE EVENT INSTANTLY BECAME SO SUCCESSFUL THAT IT WAS THE PARTY THAT ALL ELECTRONIC MUSIC LOVERS PLANNED THEIR WEEKEND AROUND. AS LINES GREW DOWN THE BLOCK, A LARGER VENUE WAS REQUIRED. JOSEPHS, WITH A CAPACITY OF OVER 400 AND A LOCATION RIGHT BEHIND AVALON, BECAME THE NEW BASE LOCATION IN 2006.

BY 2011, BETWEEN 300 AND 500 PEOPLE COME TO EM SUNDAY EACH AND EVERY WEEK. WITH VENUES RANGING FROM THE STANDARD TO JOSEPHS TO GREEN DOOR AND CABANA CLUB, EM SUNDAYS HAS BECOME A TRAVELING WEEKLY EVENT THAT IS HOME TO MUCH OF THE LOS ANGELES CLUB COMMUNITY.

And as an announcement about the rest of the summer, after nearly 300 consecutive weekly events spanning over 5 years, we have decided that our culture, music and collective community can best be served by a focus on quality rather than quantity.

That's why we have decided, for the remainder of the summer, to bring you only events that we can truly call special.

This summer we will be doing numerous events at some of the best and most diverse venues in the city. They will be amazing, but please bear with us if we miss a Sunday here or there.

Kress will be our late-night home for the near future, and what a future it has. Flyer below, and you better believe that the same
